Action Figures

Sometimes I have the little kid impulse to buy action figures.  I mostly resist it, but, the other day, I saw this action figure and had to have it.
A few years ago, I bought this one:
I used to see this one in Forbidden Planet when I lived in NYC and never bought it.  Now I regret it.  I could still get it, but it would cost met around 100 dollars.
I wonder what the impulse is to have miniature people in boxes shitting on my shelf?  Haha.  I need to work on that in therapy.  I've always been sad they never made a Daniel Craig James Bond Action Figure.  Who would you like to see in Action-Figure form?

Alice Neel (for Hugh)

I had to put Alice Neel in her crate because she was being whiny: she wanted to nap but expected me to stop moving around the apartment.  She's not able to be in one room with me in the other.  But I did manage to snap a few photos of her today for anyone who is interested in her progress.  I also think it's a pretty fantastic sweater.

Elephant

This year I stumbled on this over-priced magazine while wandering around Barnes and Noble.  It cost $20 and comes out four times a year.  I splurged and bougt it, and now I love it.  I wish I were a visual artist.  I think that is what it all comes down to.  But I'm not.  Or perhaps I'm just not brave enough to try? Most likely that statement is just me, on some level, not wanting to completely believe that I'll never be able to make something visually beautiful.  So to satisfy that impulse I buy lots of art books and now Elephant magazine.  You can also read it on-line, but it really is nice to hold in your hands.  As an object, it's pretty great.

Check it out here.

Completely separate: don't you just love Marc Jacobs in make-up?  Has anyone tried his new cologne for men?

Maybe

I've been thinking about blogging again. But I only want to talk about good stuff, happy stuff, things I like. I deleted the old blog, the content. I need to move on to something else.
